Overview
e-Motor is an OEM electronic device intended for manufacturers of doors, windows, blinds and other equipment requiring motorised control for equipment operation. It includes an encoder based position control that provides precise and specific positioning and position feedback.
This product is available with a communication port as an option, allowing remote control of the device from a separate location, either in the same building or over the Internet. Existing mains wiring at the facility is used for remote communication between a control panel and the device, so that no additional wiring is required.
The e-Motor® unit is designed to automate any equipment such as doors, windows, etc. requiring a motor for operation. Based on the signal generated by the built-in encoder, the system is capable of registering at all times how many motor turns have taken place.
In order to control the rotating sense, the electronic board includes 2 potential free digital contact type inputs, to which standard commercial pushbuttons are connected for motor operation control.
The electronics include a sliding switch and two pushbuttons that allow the fitter to set the two end-of-travel positions corresponding to each motor rotating sense.
The control board can include optionally a remote communication system that takes advantage of the electric mains as a data transmission means (PowerLine), through which motor motion data are delivered in both directions To that end, the device uses the EN 14908 LonWorks® communication standard. This technology provides robust and reliable communication in compliance with the CENELEC, Band-C standards (residential and commercial applications), which regulate data transmission over the electric mains.
The device includes four safety features, ensuring optimum system performance in case any anomaly is detected: overcurrent alarm, overvoltage alarm, encoder failure and time based protection.
Installation
This unit is designed for installation in a plastic or metal box, as required by the fitter. If installed outdoors, a weatherproof IP65 rated enclosure must be used.
