Light control in buildings with no additional wiring

On/Off switching lighting control solution using e-Controller devices on existing buildings. No additional wires is needed for data transmission

These application notes provide information on how to apply the 2 Input / 2 Output e Controller product to existing installations to provide on/off light control. The benefit of the e Controller devices is that no new additional wiring is required in the installation to operate, since the existing mains network is used for control purposes.

When installing e-Controller units, a single electric wire may be used to transmit multiple signals, which when received act only on the luminaire belonging to each zone.

Relay outputs in e-Controller devices may be remotely controlled by other e-Controller devices fitted with signal transmission inputs, pushbutton pads such as e-Scene, or Internet controllers providing an On/Off function through daily programmes or a management screen that allows user control.

Specially designed for building and small to medium facility refurbishment and rehabilitation, e-Controller may integrate into any LonWorks network using any compatible LNS tool such as NL200 or LonMaker, amongst others. The device may be configured using a USB network interface with a mains coupling device; required network variable connections may be made, for use with any other PowerLine device.

An advanced self installation algorithm is included that enables the fitter to commission the unit through a pushbutton located on its front, allocating it to an e Scene pushbutton pad or an e-Multisensor PLC device; no computer or special software is required.

The use of a robust and reliable communication device chip, together with the LonWorks data transmission technology, ensures unique communication quality, free from noise or interference issues.
